CUSTOM TATTOO STUDIO
Inkling is a full custom tattoo and art studio designed for the more discerning client.
We specialise in creating and producing unique pieces built upon clients concepts, ideas and collaborations between the three artists in residence.
The studio is nestled in the heart of the cultural quarter at the Phoenix Arts building and offers a relaxed, unintimidating atmosphere that is miles away from the traditional tattoo parlour clichés.
Neil has been practicing the fine art of tattooing since 1997.
After apprenticing under Frank Moore in Southend-on-Sea, Neil relocated to Leicester and became part owner of the successful tattoo/piercing studio Abody.
16 years later Neil took the leap and opened his own studio, Inkling, in 2013. The quieter location and his strong client base meant Inkling could thrive as a friendly, relaxed environment where every customer gets beautiful, fully bespoke artwork and all the tea they can drink.
Neil specialises in realism, but isn't limited to that by any means. Look at his portfolio and you'll see everything from bio-organic pieces to portraiture and asian inspired work. The ease that he can turn his hand to any art style means the future is bright… and very, very busy.
Katie started her tattoo journey at Abody as Neil's apprentice in 2010. When he opened Inkling, Katie quickly followed.
Her specialities are dot work, patterns and anything colourful and pop culture. Her skill to adapt to any type of tattoo has earned her a large client base of happy customers.
Katie loves Disney and is never happier than when she gets to pour lots of vibrant colours into awesome Disney themed tattoos for her clients. She’s also a big pro wrestling mark.
She keeps the important parts of the studio running smoothly whenever Neil gets distracted by something shiny.
Michelle has taken to tattooing like a duck to water. She began apprenticing under Neil in 2015 and has never looked back. Her natural talent, artistic background and infectious personality have turned her into a phenomenal tattoo artist in a short space of time.
Black and grey portraiture is Michelle’s speciality but she also excels at realism, full colour, blackwork and everything else in between.
Michelle loves photography and whippets. She’s forensically aware.
